History of the Institution

European University, Ltd. was established on July 03, 1995. At different points in time, the above University carried out its activities under the following titles:

• Georgian Independent Medical Institute "Iveria", Ltd;
• Tamaz Mukhadze University "Iveria", Ltd.
• Teaching University "Iveria", Ltd.
• Nursing School - Teaching University "Iveria", Ltd.
• International Teaching University of Georgia, Ltd. 
• European Teaching University, Ltd. 

Accreditation/Authorization:

In Georgia, the process of institutional accreditation of higher education institutions started in 2005. From September  2010, the process of licensing of educational activities and institutional accreditation has been abolished and the authorization of educational institutions begin The educational programs administrated before the commencement of the 2005-2006 academic year by the Higher Education Institutions established under the requirements of the law of Georgia is state - recognized.

*On November 19, 2007, Tamaz Mukhadze University "Iveria", Ltd. was refused institutional accreditation. However, the educational programs administrated by the above-mentioned educational institution for the students enrolled pursuant to the procedure established by the law, were regarded as accredited before the commencement of the 2009-2010 academic year.

** On December 17, 2009, Tamaz Mukhadze University "Iveria", Ltd. was refused institutional accreditation.
